I am a thirty-three year old woman who just started running. I have a rare condition called Hyperaldosteronism, which causes me to have hypertension. I have no history of exercising due to childhood asthma. I have stopped using that as an excuse now that it has been almost twenty years since I've outgrown it. I also like expressing the crazy shit that happens from time to time in my life. I will treat this like a journal of sorts.

Nothing Good to Report
Well I made it out last Wednesday for what was supposed to be my 4 mile run around Natures Way. I wore sneakers just to be safe. I didn't want to go before I even got out of bed. But somehow I managed to get dressed and get out the door. It was probably because David was urging me to go with him. I made it two miles - at one point there was a small hill and it just killed my lungs. It was very muggy out so that may have had an affect on me as well - not that I am making excuses because I am not. After the uphill area I had to start walking. I just didn't have it in me. After that my left foot started hurting me again. That same spot on the top of my foot. I had to walk the rest of the two miles. Each step was very painful. David looked up my issue with my foot and we think it was the fact that I have never done barefoot running and I just strained my foot. I took a week off a few weeks ago but we read that it could take up to five weeks to heal. I think I am going to wait for five weeks, see how that goes, and then return slowly. I have my sights set on the half marathon in November. I don't want anything to get in my way of that. I also want to get Chloe ready for her first 5k in June. I am going to get her started on the Couch to 5k Plan. I am excited for her!! I will keep the blog updated with her progress!!
