I am a thirty-three year old woman who just started running. I have a rare condition called Hyperaldosteronism, which causes me to have hypertension. I have no history of exercising due to childhood asthma. I have stopped using that as an excuse now that it has been almost twenty years since I've outgrown it. I also like expressing the crazy shit that happens from time to time in my life. I will treat this like a journal of sorts.

I'm Back in the Game
It's been so long, I know! The first semester at USF kicked my ass! I had to put running on the back burner for a while. In doing so though I have gained a few lbs. I also got diagnosed with a thyroid issue so I'm not sure if it was my eating or my body but either way the lbs are there! I just started my second semester and now that I have a good idea about what to expect, I am back running and eating healthy. I started counting calories via LiveStrong.com and their The Daily Plate thing. I ran two miles today for the first time since August. My legs are on fire but I feel good. I feel like this time it is going to stick. I have a goal and usually when I have a goal it gets met. I ran in my new Vibram's! I also got a new app for my Iphone that will track my pace and distance so I don't have to go out and buy one of those fancy watches!! Things are looking up! I plan to run the Gasparilla 5k or 8k in February! I am hoping for the 8k but we shall see. I am going to update a few good books I've read and upcoming races. I'm feeling good! Oh and yeah, I got a 3.86 GPA last semester!
