Things are moving along...

I am proud to write that I have stayed on track with my running.  I had to take a brief break BUT I didn't let that put me out of the game completely.  I had a little cold and took last week off.  I tried to go out last Friday but only got a mile out and my lungs were burning!  I was able to get out last night and finished my goal for the day.  It wasn't the easiest thing but I did it.  I am thinking I didn't prepare myself all that well before I went out.  I may have been hungry or dehydrated.  I did take Chloe with me.  That was fun.  She enjoys running and maybe in two years she can try out for track in high school.  I am excited about my upcoming race.  I know it is going to be crowded and I get to do with my friend.  I've only ever run with my sister or David so this will be fun!  I am also volunteering for Challenged Athletes.  I am going to be helping out those who have special needs who are in the race.  I can't think of a better way to spend the Friday before my run.  Those athletes are very inspiring to me and I can't wait to meet them.  I love going to the trade show as well!!

School is going ok.  Actually I hate it!  I have to be honest.  I don't mind the work but the teachers suck!  I am being taught by graduate students who don't know a freaking thing.  I was told by a very smart friend, after I said I wasn't learning anything other than what not to do, that learning what not to do is just as important as learning what to do.  I see that perspective and it is what is keeping me going but I think this country is in a state of emergency when it comes to higher education.  If we can't have teachers in the College of Education that teach well, we are all in for a big giant mess.  It takes a certain type of person to go into education in the first place and let me tell you I am getting very sick of the shit I have to put up with.  Especially since I am paying a lot of money to be called lazy and do busy work!

Friday is my next run.  I am hoping to run 2.25 miles.  I know I can do it. I just hope I don't have any cramps.  I am going to try to prepare myself so I can avoid that at all costs.  I will report back soon!
